Professor Ali Gorji at the Opening Ceremony of "Mehr-e Razavi" Center: “No Cancer Patient Will Go to Other Countries for His Treatment.”
Head of cancer research center of Raza Hospital said that: “It is predicted that due to the complete establishment of Mehre-e Razavi Center, no Iranian cancer patient is needed to go to other countries for his treatment by the next 10 years.
According to the public relations of Razavi Hospital, in the opening ceremony of this center, Professor Ali Gorji stated that the idea of opening such a center was suggested 10 months ago by the Great Custodianship of Astan Quds Razavi.
“The plan for establishing the center was started 6 months after the basic idea was suggested by the Great Custodianship of Astan Quds; and benefiting from the experiences of other cancer centers in Germany, America, etc., we prepared a primary plan.” He continued.
He added: “Today, phase I of cancer center (clinical part) includes all parts which exist in the other cancer centers all around the world and it is ready to provide services to all patients and all the required medical equipment is available in diagnostic-treatment part. But unfortunately something we lack is palliative care.”
Meanwhile ha declared that the median age of the country is rising and people do not have sufficient information about the cancer itself and cancer risk factors. Our intention is to encourage healthy people to come to the center to receive information and be trained how to have self-examination in this regard.
At the end he added, “In this center, the patient is not visited by a single doctor and the required measures are performed by a group of specialists and the final decision is made by them. Moreover, to minimize patients concerns, all the related services from the beginning up to the end of treatment procedures will be provided with the medical staff of the center and the patients are not referred to other health care centers for having different tests such as radiology or imaging.”
